COMMUNICATION & SAFETY

Incident & Emergency Response

Building the confidence to act in the first few minutes of an incident — clear roles, clear communication and a calm, structured response.

Course overview

Plans rarely fail because they were badly written. They fail because in the first three minutes nobody was sure who was doing what.

This programme concentrates on that opening window: taking initial control, communicating clearly under pressure, and handing over cleanly to emergency services or senior management when they arrive.

Who it's for

Frontline teams, supervisors and duty managers responsible for the initial response on site.

What participants will learn

  • The first actions that shape the whole incident

  • Taking initial control without overstepping the role

  • Clear communication when information is incomplete

  • Working with emergency services and handing over well

  • Roles, responsibilities and avoiding duplicated effort

  • Recording, reporting and debriefing afterwards

Key outcomes

  • Faster, more organised initial responses

  • Clearer communication between site, control and management

  • Better incident records and post-incident learning

  • Teams who have rehearsed rather than only read the plan

Course format

Sessions are live and trainer-led throughout. Content is delivered in short blocks, each followed by discussion and structured scenario work, so delegates practise rather than only listen. Group sizes are agreed in advance to protect the amount of participation each person gets.

What makes FRG different

This programme is written from operational experience rather than adapted from a generic template. The scenarios come from real frontline environments, the language is the language your teams use, and where you can share your own context we build the session around it. The aim is not a certificate — it is a team that handles the next incident better than the last one.
