LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT
Frontline Leadership
Developing supervisors and team leaders who can hold standards, have difficult conversations and lead a shift with confidence and accountability.
Course overview
Most frontline supervisors are promoted because they were good at the job, then left to work out the leadership part alone. The result is people managing a team the way they were managed, whether or not that worked.
This programme gives them a practical footing: how to set an expectation, how to address the performance issue rather than avoid it, and how to hold a standard consistently across a team they were, until recently, part of.
Who it's for
Supervisors, team leaders, shift managers and high-potential officers moving into their first leadership role.
What participants will learn
Moving from peer to supervisor without losing the team
Setting expectations clearly enough that they hold
Giving feedback that changes behaviour
Running the difficult conversation instead of postponing it
Leading a shift under operational pressure
Supporting a team through incidents and change
Key outcomes
Supervisors who address issues early rather than escalating them
More consistent standards across shifts and sites
Better retention of good frontline staff
A visible development route for your strongest people
Course format
Sessions are live and trainer-led throughout. Content is delivered in short blocks, each followed by discussion and structured scenario work, so delegates practise rather than only listen. Group sizes are agreed in advance to protect the amount of participation each person gets.
What makes FRG different
This programme is written from operational experience rather than adapted from a generic template. The scenarios come from real frontline environments, the language is the language your teams use, and where you can share your own context we build the session around it. The aim is not a certificate — it is a team that handles the next incident better than the last one.
