COMMUNICATION & SAFETY
Conflict Management
Recognising behaviour as it escalates, communicating under pressure and de-escalating difficult situations safely and professionally.
Course overview
Conflict rarely arrives fully formed. It builds — through frustration, being ignored, or being handled badly by someone who meant well. Teams who can read that build-up can usually stop it.
This session works through the practical mechanics: what escalating behaviour actually looks like, how tone and position change an interaction, and how to bring the temperature down without losing the outcome or your own safety.
Who it's for
Any frontline team dealing with the public — security, retail, transport, hospitality, healthcare reception and facilities.
What participants will learn
How conflict builds, and the points where it can be interrupted
Reading warning signs in behaviour, language and body language
Voice, tone and positioning as de-escalation tools
Managing your own reaction under pressure
Knowing when to withdraw and get support
Reporting and reflecting after an incident
Key outcomes
Fewer situations escalating to physical intervention
More confident, less reactive frontline responses
Better incident reporting and follow-up
Staff who feel safer coming to work
Course format
Sessions are live and trainer-led throughout. Content is delivered in short blocks, each followed by discussion and structured scenario work, so delegates practise rather than only listen. Group sizes are agreed in advance to protect the amount of participation each person gets.
What makes FRG different
This programme is written from operational experience rather than adapted from a generic template. The scenarios come from real frontline environments, the language is the language your teams use, and where you can share your own context we build the session around it. The aim is not a certificate — it is a team that handles the next incident better than the last one.
